Life Will Smile
The unique story of the 275 Jewish People of Zakynthos
During World War II, 6 million Jewish people from across Nazi-occupied Europe died in the Holocaust.
But on the small Greek island of Zakynthos, every member of the 275 strong Jewish community survived unscathed –
Life Will Smile is their story.
Co-produced by Nomadic Originals and TerraMagma Pictures, this beautiful film is narrated by one of the island’s last remaining survivors, 84-year old Haim Konstantini. Just 10 years old in 1943, Haim tells his story through the veiled innocence of childhood.
Life Will Smile is directed by Drey Kleanthous and produced by Steve Priovolos and is produced under the auspices of UNESCO and the New York-based Greek-America Foundation, promoting Greek ideals across North America.
Life Will Smile is the timeless and inspiring true story of humanity flourishing in the darkest of times and it has now been recognised by International film festivals, winning the Grand Prize at Rhode Island International Festival in the ‘Hearts, Minds & Souls’ category and also winning Silver at Pittsburgh International Film Festival.
This film has been a labour of love for the Nomadic Originals team who created it and who are now happy to share that it will be available on a platform in 2019. Please do check back here in the coming months for more information about the release.
Following the success of Life Will Smile, Nomadic Originals are now in the final stages of developing a feature film based on this same story “Zante” .
